Can we just keep our records in a record book?

Sure you could, in much the same way that your department could be using battle axes or bows and arrows instead of guns to defend themselves. Either scenario places your officers at greater risk by using old technology, and will end up costing your department more in the long run.  Paper records are expensive to print and store, time consuming to sift through, nearly impossible to track, easy to misplace, and more susceptible to claims of tampering.  I…

A real issue is people who are oblivious to what they are giving up. Not everyone is informed and educated, this video aims to start a conversation so that users can educate themselves and then make informed decisions. Remember how many kids use these services, many of which don’t even know what TOS stands for. Who’s fault is it then? Who is responsible for educating these younger users of the information they are giving up to use that service? Many don’t understand what privacy really is.

The right to privacy – The Supreme Court decided that the right to privacy is implied in the 1st, 3rd, and 4th amendments in the 1965 grizwald vs. Connecticut case. (http://goo.gl/WEjp5T)

This video isn’t even just about privacy issues. Facebook is dirty in other ways than that. Facebook requires users who have large followings to PAY PER POST and boost the post so it can reach the people ALREADY following them. Otherwise the post will only result in under 10% of the following seeing the post. It’s a dirty way to make money. (http://goo.gl/iPpuk4)

Google only records information you give directly to their services. Facebook has been known to record information outside of Facebook itself. Users have gotten highly intrusive ads based on things they’ve bought on Amazon. Last I’ve checked, Facebook doesn’t own Amazon, nor does it own the right to record data you send between the Amazon servers and yourself.

Facebook sells fake/inactive likes. Meaning if you advertise on Facebook to grow your page, a large percentage of those likes are Fake/Inactive facebook accounts. This may boost your ‘Likes’ however your ‘Talking About’ and actual posts will show relatively no interaction with actual people. However facebook advertises this as a way to gain real loyal followers for your brand. (http://goo.gl/XkdkHF)

Regardless of what form the data is in, its my data. It is still sent to FB servers and it is still aggregated and stored, which is exactly what I said in the video. Data is sent and stored. No inaccurate information. To think this is only used for identifying a song, and not used for collecting more information on your interests/likes/dislikes would be a huge over site. The problem isn’t that this feature exists, its that Facebook is anything but transparent about how they are using this data.

This is meant to start a conversation about what we are willing to let go and what we should protect in our modern lives. I personally have chosen a life in the public eye, and have forfeited many of my rights of privacy to do this profession. You may call that hypocritical, but to be human is to be hypocritical. If this is your focus then you are focusing on the wrong issue. Are you willing to let your rights go? For what, and why? At what point is enough, enough? I am genuinely interested in your opinions, leave them in the comments below.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Facial_composite

A facial composite is a graphical representation of an eyewitness’s memory of a face, as recorded by a composite artist. Facial composites are used mainly by police in their investigation of (usually serious) crimes…

Methods

PhotoFIT generation

Construction of the composite was originally performed by a trained artist, through drawing, sketching, or painting, in consultation with a witness or crime victim. In the 1970s techniques were devised for use by those less artistically skilled, employing interchangeable templates of separate facial features, such as “Photofit” in the UK, Smith & Wesson’s “Identi-Kit” in the US and PortraitPad.

In the last two decades, a number of computer based facial composite systems have been introduced, amongst the most widely used systems are SketchCop FACETTE Face Design System Software, “Identi-Kit 2000”, FACES, E-FIT and PortraitPad. In the U.S. the FBI maintains that hand-drawing is its preferred method for constructing a facial composite. Many other police agencies, however, use software, since suitable artistic talent is often not available.

Evolutionary systems

Until quite recently, the facial composite systems used by international police forces were exclusively based on a construction methodology in which individual facial features (eyes, nose, mouth, eyebrows, etc.) are selected one at a time from a large database and then electronically ‘overlaid’ to make the composite image. Such systems are often referred to as feature-based since they essentially rely on the selection of individual features in isolation. However, after a long period of research and development work conducted largely within British Universities, systems based on a rather different principle are finding increasing use by police forces. These systems may be broadly described as holistic or global in that they primarily attempt to create a likeness to the suspect through an evolutionary mechanism in which a witness’s response to groups of complete faces (not just features) converges towards an increasingly accurate image. Three such systems have come from academic beginnings, EFIT-V from the University of Kent, EvoFIT from Stirling and Central Lancashire University, and ID from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.

A general review of research into the evaluation of mechanical template techniques may be found in Davies and Valetine (2006) A review of research into more modern ‘feature’ and ‘recognition’ systems, and into methods for improving the effectiveness of composites, may be found in Frowd et al. (2008) and (2009).

The systems used in the UK have been subjected to a number of academic studies. These have typically shown that E-FIT and PRO-fit produce composites that are correctly named, either immediately or a few hours after construction, about 20% of the time (see Brace et al. (2000), Bruce et al. (2002), Davies et al. (2000) and Frowd et al. (2005)). When witnesses in these studies are required to wait two days before constructing a composite, which matches real use more closely, naming falls to a few percent at best (e.g. Frowd et al. (2005) and (2007)). The reason for the low level of naming from these systems appears to be that witnesses are unable to accurately construct the internal features of the face after long delays, the region that is important for recognition by another person later (Frowd et al. (2007)).

Evolutionary systems show a marked improvement in accuracy. In academic trials, research on a fairly-recent version of the EvoFIT system has shown correct naming levels of about 30% after a 2-day delay…

Vehicle GPS Tracking Live Video CCTV with Passenger Face Recognition

SafeCity Security Solution http://www.safecitysecurity.com +971-55-9991236 Email: ark@perimetersecuritysol.com

SafeCity Security Solution delivers advanced GPS based Vehicle Tracking Systems, Fleet Management, Vehicle Monitors, Asset Tracking and Fleet Management Solutions with full fledged operations in the Middle East. Our GPS Tracking Devices and Software Solutions customized to provide solutions to the companies to monitor vehicles, passengers, routes and other activities.
SafeCity tracks student with school buses, company employees and other mobile assets. We do time and attendance on buses and van with 4G connection and reports to the head quarter.
Face Recognition of the bus passenger and live reporting is provided to the client in control rooms.
Major constituents of the GPS based tracking are:

GPS tracking: The device fits into the vehicle and captures the GPS location information apart from other vehicle information at regular intervals to a central server. The other vehicle information can include fuel amount, engine temperature, altitude, reverse geocoding, door open/close, tire pressure, cut off fuel, turn off ignition, turn on headlight, turn on taillight, battery status, GSM area code/cell code decoded, number of GPS satellites in view, glass open/close, fuel amount, emergency button status, cumulative idling, computed odometer, engine RPM, throttle position, GPRS status and a lot more. Capability of these devices actually decide the final capability of the whole tracking system.
GPS tracking server: The tracking server has three responsibilities: receiving data from the GPS tracking unit, securely storing it, and serving this information on demand to the user.
User interface: The UI determines how one will be able to access information, view vehicle data, and elicit important details from it.

Stolen vehicle recovery: Both consumer and commercial vehicles can be outfitted with RF or GPS units to allow police to do tracking and recovery. In the case of LoJack, the police can activate the tracking unit in the vehicle directly and follow tracking signals.
Fleet management: When managing a fleet of vehicles, knowing the real-time location of all drivers allows management to meet customer needs more efficiently. Whether it is delivery, service or other multi-vehicle enterprises, drivers now only need a mobile phone with telephony or Internet connection to be inexpensively tracked by and dispatched efficiently.
Asset tracking: Companies needing to track valuable assets for insurance or other monitoring purposes can now plot the real-time asset location on a map and closely monitor movement and operating status.
Field service management: Companies with a field service workforce for services such as repair or maintenance, must be able to plan field workers’ time, schedule subsequent customer visits and be able to operate these departments efficiently. Vehicle tracking allows companies to quickly locate a field engineer and dispatch the closest one to meet a new customer request or provide site arrival information.
Field sales: Mobile sales professionals can access real-time locations. For example, in unfamiliar areas, they can locate themselves as well as customers and prospects, get driving directions and add nearby last-minute appointments to itineraries. Benefits include increased productivity, reduced driving time and increased time spent with customers and prospects.
Trailer tracking: Haulage and Logistics companies often operate lorries with detachable load carrying units. The part of the vehicle that drives the load is known as the cab and the load carrying unit is known as the trailer. There are different types of trailer used for different applications, e.g., flat bed, refrigerated, curtain sider, box container.
Surveillance: A tracker may be placed on a vehicle to follow the vehicle’s movements.[6]
Transit tracking: temporary tracking of assets or cargoes from one point to another. Users will ensure that the assets do not stop on route or do a U-Turn in order to ensure the security of the assets.
Fuel Monitoring: monitor the fuel through tracking device (with help of fuel sensor connected to the device).
Distance Calculation: calculate the distance traveled by the fleet.
OBD II – Plug and play interface which provides most of engine diagnostics information.
Vehicle tracking systems are widely used worldwide. Components come in various shapes and forms but most utilize GPS technology and GSM services. While most will offer real-time tracking, Others record real time data and store it to be read, similar to data loggers. systems like these track and record and allow reports after certain points have been solved.
